Make The Moment Work for You.

It's 2020 and I have a 3 year old and 5 year old that I am quarantined at home with. My spouse is  working out of the house, because his job cannot be done remotely. My job is shut down and cannot be done at all.

Anxiety is through the roof. Like THROUGH. THE. ROOF.
-Panicked breathing
-Shaking regularly
-Zero patience
-Little Sleep
-Lack of focus

My ability to do the movements and exercises I like (Kettlebell Sport) was greatly impacted. Practicing Sport was driving panic attacks. I needed slow weighted movements, so I moved into power lifting. But even that wasn't practical when I was alone with the kids.
Enter my trusty old Original Strength training. Why not do movements that are designed to address the nervous system?
Perfect.
Or not?

You know what little kids like to do? They like to climb all over everything, including people.
Instead of getting frustrated, I used it to my advantage:
Weighted Original Strength!

What a wonderful concept of adding more tension/weight/load to basic movement. It was like a weighted blanket for my movement AND kept me from getting frustrated about the place I was in.

I did these daily. I still do them when I'm feeling the overwhelm. My now almost 6 year old still climbs on my back. And I still enjoy that extra weight to the movement.
Some days you need to be alone, and other days you need to go with the flow. It's best to have something to help you through those moments you may not have access to being alone.
