It's up to you to do the work

Reading through an email today and this just hit me. The full quote is in reference to Dr. Shante Cofield's chance meeting with an Olympian; "ALL of those things somehow fell into place, and the Universe teed it up nice, but the end result, the actual interaction, was up to me."
Whether you see these parts of your life guided by God, Allah, divine intervention, chance, whatever, the point is all the signs put before you are moot if you don't choose to put forth an effort.

"Do the work," as Dr. Shante says repeatedly.
DO THE WORK.
It doesn't matter what it is that is going on in your life you have to do the work to see results.
You want to change your health? You have to do the work.
You want to change the trajectory of your life? You have to do the work.
You want to win the lottery? You still have to do the work.


If you are not yet ready to do the work then everything may look difficult and full of excuses. And you know, what? That's ok. You’re not ready to do the work.
There are moments that we are not ready to do the work, or we may never be ready to do the work for this one thing. It may not be that important to you. Recognize that. Take it for what it is.


BUT if you want something to change, you have to do the work. You have to change what you are doing, how you are doing it for it to change.


Albert Einstein has been quoted as saying, "The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results." Look, if you keep doing the same thing and nothing is changing that shit is not working. Do something different. Do the work to do something different.


Heck, even Anna in Frozen 2 talks about it:


    "Take a step, step again.
     
      This next breath, this next step
      This next choice is one that I can make.




      The I'll make the choice to hear that voice
       And do the next right thing"


Your path in this life may be predetermined, may be happenstance, may be coincidental, nobody knows. But your ability to show up for yourself and create the life that you want is fully determined by you showing up.


It is up to you to do the work for your future.
