That Manual Therapy thing.......
I use several different techniques during a manual therapy session, but the most notable technique is Neurokinetic Therapy.
Neurokinetic Therapy or NKT taps into the brain to figure out what is going on within the body.
The brain is the manager of the body and everything else are like the workers.
NKT allows me to have a conversation with the brain about how the muscles and ligaments are working.
For instance, I can ask the brain how the hamstrings are functioning, and I can get a reply that says they're working fine. Or I can get a response that says they're sleeping on the job and Quads are picking up all the slack.
Or maybe its the muscles in the arch of the foot that have been doing extra work after that ankle injury 17 years ago. Everyone keeps poking and prodding at them but all they want is to rest.
With the information we gather using NKT, we can address the muscles that are actually over working vs the ones that are sore.
Why would we not want to address the ones that are sore? Sometimes those sore muscles are overworked and tired and releasing those only further complicates the issue.
Have you had an area of nagging pain that seems to not get better with stretching or strengthening?
Do you feel like your performance isn't quite where you think it should be?
Do you feel like there is a block in how you move?
I will be offering free 30 minute assessments through November 30th, so now is the time to see if manual therapy is a good fit for you.
